Projects and Tasks
This permission is about the tasks inside projects. People with it can:
- View the projects they’re assigned to.
- Create, edit, delete, and finish tasks in those projects.
- Assign people to tasks.
Manage Projects
This permission is about the projects themselves. People with it can:
- Create, edit, activate, deactivate, and delete projects.
- Manage each project’s members.
Without it, people only see the active projects they’re assigned to, and can’t change them.
Which One Should I Give?
- Team lead who organizes the work: allow Projects and tasks, deny Manage projects.
- Project manager who sets up projects and teams: allow both.
- Employee who only logs time: deny both. They can still pick from the projects they’re assigned to when tracking time, as long as Time tracker is allowed.
How to Set Them
- Go to Settings & integrations > Security > Permissions.
- Click Add permission group, or open the permission group you want to change.
- Scroll to the time tracker permissions.
- Choose Allow or Deny for each one.
- Click Save.
Then assign the permission group to the right people from their profile in People > Employees.
