Step 1: Open the Detailed report
Go to Time > Reports and click Detailed. Set the date range to the billing period, for example Last Month.
Step 2: Filter by client
Select the client in the Client filter and click Filter. Add a Project filter if you bill per project.
Step 3: Check the Billable column
Each entry shows whether it’s billable. Billable time comes from the project’s Billable project setting, and can also be changed on individual entries in the Tracker.
Step 4: Export the hours
Click Export excel. In the spreadsheet, total the billable rows and multiply by the client’s hourly rate. The rate and currency are set on the client in Settings & integrations > Settings > Time tracker configuration > Clients.
Tips
- Make sure projects are linked to the right client, or their hours won’t appear under that client.
- Ask your team to fill in descriptions, so the invoice lines are clear.
- If timesheets need approval, bill from approved time only.
