Step 1: Start a break

While you’re clocked in, go to Time > Tracker and click Break. Your worked time stops counting, and the button changes to End break.

Step 2: End the break

When you’re back, click End break. Your worked time starts counting again. You can take as many breaks as you need in a day.

Step 3: Check your break total

The Total break time in Today’s summary shows how long you’ve been on break today. Your Time worked today already has the breaks taken off.

How Breaks Appear on Your Timesheet

Your timesheet shows the time you actually worked. Breaks are subtracted from the time between your clock-in and clock-out. For example, 9:00 to 17:00 with a 30-minute break gives 7h 30m.

In the Breaks row, the break shows as a negative figure, such as -0h 30m, to show it was taken off. Admins also see each employee’s breaks and net time on the Attendance review page.

Good to Know

  • End your break before clocking out, so your day closes cleanly.
  • If you clock out by mistake and then continue your day, the gap is also counted as a break. See how to continue your day.
  • Breaks are part of Clock in / Clock out mode. In Task tracker mode, stop the timer when you take a break.
