Step 1: Open the Clients list

Go to “Time tracking” in the left-hand menu, click “Settings,” then click the “Clients” card to see the full list of clients along with their currency, hourly rate, linked projects, and status.

Step 2: Open the Actions menu

Find the client you want to manage and click the three-dot “⋮” icon in the “Actions” column on the right. A small menu appears with three options: “Edit,” “Deactivate,” and “Delete.”

To edit a client:

Click “Edit.” A dialog opens pre-filled with that client’s name, currency, and hourly rate. Update whichever field needs changing and click “Save” to apply it.

To deactivate a client:

Click “Deactivate.” This does not remove the client, it simply flips their status from “Active” to “Inactive.” You can confirm this by using the “Active” / “Inactive” / “All” filter above the client list, an inactive client is still there, still listed with its projects and history, just filtered out of the active view. This is the safer, reversible option when a client relationship has paused or ended but you still want to keep their records and past project data intact for reporting.

To delete a client:

Click “Delete.” This is a permanent removal of the client record from the system, unlike deactivating, it doesn’t just hide the client, it erases it entirely. Because this action cannot be undone, I’m not able to perform a deletion for you, if you want to actually delete a client, you’ll need to click “Delete” and confirm it yourself directly in the app.

The real difference in short:

Deactivating is a reversible status change that keeps the client and its historical data intact but out of your active list, while deleting permanently erases the client record altogether. If you’re unsure, deactivating is almost always the safer choice.
