Short Answer

Yes. Admins can add or correct an employee’s time from the Timesheets page, for example when someone forgot to clock in, left a timer running, or logged time on the wrong day.

Step 1: Open the employee’s timesheet

Go to Time > Timesheets and click the employee’s name. Use the date field in the top-right to go to the week you need.

Step 2: Click the day you want to change

Click the day that needs a correction, or the empty day where time is missing.

Step 3: Enter the correct time

What you enter depends on your company’s tracking mode:

  • Clock in / Clock out: enter the start time, the end time, and the break.
  • Task tracker: add or edit the entry, select the project and task, and enter the start and end time of each one.

Save, and the day’s total and the employee’s timesheet update straight away.

Editing Submitted Timesheets

Once an employee submits their timesheet, it’s locked for them, but it can still be corrected on the approval side. Your company’s Approval workflow decides who can do this: the employee’s first approver, their second approver, or either one. They can approve, reject, undo, or edit the submitted time.

For a small mistake, correcting the entry is quicker than rejecting the whole timesheet and asking the employee to resubmit.

Good to Know

  • The Time editing setting (Can’t edit time or Can edit time) controls whether employees can change their own time. It’s in Settings & integrations > Settings > Time tracker configuration > General.
  • If a new time overlaps another entry, Day Off warns you about the conflict before saving.
  • Tell the employee when you change their time, so their records match what they expect.
