Before You Start
- Employees can only add or edit their own time when the admin has chosen Can edit time. If your company uses Can’t edit time, ask your admin to add it for you.
- Add missing time before you submit the timesheet. Submitted days are locked for employees.
- The steps depend on your company’s tracking mode: Clock in / Clock out or Task tracker.
Clock in / Clock out: Add a Missing Day as an Employee
Go to Time > Tracker and add a new entry for the missing day. Enter the start and end time of your working day, and your break times. Save, and the day’s total updates.
Clock in / Clock out: Add a Missing Day as an Admin
Go to Time > Timesheets and open the employee’s timesheet. Click the day with the missing entry, then enter the start time, the end time, and the break.
Task Tracker: Add a Past Entry as an Employee
- On Time > Tracker, choose the project and task, then start the timer and stop it so the entry is saved.
- Click the calendar icon next to the saved entry and choose the day the work belongs to.
- Edit the entry’s start and end time to match the hours you actually worked.
Task Tracker: Add a Past Entry as an Admin
Go to Time > Timesheets and open the employee’s timesheet. Click the empty day and add a new entry. Select the project and task, and enter the start and end time of each one.
Clocked Out by Mistake?
In Clock in / Clock out mode, click Cancel clock out on the Tracker and confirm with Yes. Your day continues. The time between clocking out and continuing counts as a break. This only works while the day isn’t submitted.
If the New Time Overlaps Another Entry
When a time you enter overlaps an existing record, Day Off warns you about the conflict before saving. Check the other entry and adjust the times so they don’t clash.
